The food was delicious (definitely recommend the mushrooms on toast). The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (very dog friendly). The inside of the pub is lovely (we were sat by the fire) and the views are great. Would definitely recommend.

The Pheasant is reliably good for great food. The atmosphere is cosy with fires lit and very good service. The menu choices are good and the produce used very good quality. Presentation of food is also very good. The ribs starter was the best I have had and I will return just to have them again. I can’t fault this cosy country pub which has exceptional views on a clear day.

This is literally my favourite pub in the UK. I lived in Chester for 2 years and spent lots of happy time here. As a Brit, that’s a BIG statement. Food is great, staff are lovely, beer is good and it’s a beautiful pub with a gorgeous view. This place uplifts the soul.

Called in at 1220 after a family walk, was after a round of drinks only. Had told our friends how lovely the place was. Appreciate it is the festive season and we hadn’t booked a table. There were plenty of reserved tables. No problem we’ll sit outside. Can honestly say I have never been served by a barman so rudely. There wasn’t anybody else waiting to be served nor was the pub busy. There was a huff and a puff after each drink was ordered and I was made to feel like I was putting him out. Left a very sour taste.

The best meal out we've had in a long time. The food is hot, generously portioned, reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The game pie and Gloucester old spot sausages were phenomenal and so flavourful. The service is friendly and the facilities are clean and nicely decorated. The atmosphere is bright, cheerful and family friendly.

Didn't book but they fitted us in. Fabulous service on all counts. Travel to many pubs to eat, seems to be my hobby now, but the food was absolutely wonderful. Will be back, and will book next time. Totally recommend.

Booked a birthday lunch here and it didn't disappoint. Hot (V. Important) and tasty food and a really friendly table service. Food arrived promptly and the fact that the place was busy on a weekday lunchtime says it all. You have to travel there and it's worth it. Well done Pheasant Inn and thank you.

A great pub with accommodating staff, serving delicious, affordable food in a beautiful location. We were a party of 10 (5 adults, 5 kids) looking to eat here on the May bank holiday weekend with only a few hours notice to reserve a table. Despite being booked up for Sunday lunch, the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us and we managed to get a table for the end of day serving time. Everyone in our group remarked on how good the pub was. The menu had lots of choice, dishes came in large portions, and everything was reasonably priced. The cask beer options were great and there was plenty to choose from for soft drinks too. The kids menu went down really well. We all enjoyed our meal so much, most of us managed to fit in dessert as well! We'll definitely stop off for lunch or dinner here if we're ever in the area again.

We got the vegetarian sausage with fried mushrooms started and the beef pastry pie and creamy mushroom starter. Everything was delicious! Huge portions for the mains. We were stuffed. The staff were nice and attentive. It was a good atmosphere.
